The Bulldog rope dampener is designed to absorb the energy released in the event of a catastrophic cable or rope break. The weight is distributed on both sides of the saddle, preventing the line from snapping back. The zippered pouch allows us to use the weight of our choosing. Today we are just using a couple bricks. It's constructed of a heavy-duty abrasion and tear resistant canvas, so it's going to be durable and last a long time.
